Friends of Fogelberg VIII
September 7 - 8, 2017
Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts
Beloved singer-songwriter Dan Fogelberg died of prostate cancer 10 years ago this December prompting a group of Amarillo musicians to form “Friends of Fogelberg” with the goal of fighting this deadly men’s disease by performing concerts and using funds raised to provide free screenings, education and awareness.
While fighting prostate cancer remains the main focus, this year the proceeds will be split with “Olivia’s Angels” to assist hospice patients.
The free screening, a PSA blood test, will take place Saturday, September 9th from 9:00 to noon at the 24 Hours in the Canyon Cancer Survivorship Center located at 4514 Cornell St., just south of the Amarillo Town Club. This year’s screening will feature the 1st Annual “Fogelburger Fest”, where the first 400 men screened will be able to select a coupon for a free Fogelburger from one of their favorite restaurants, Blue Sky, Cowboy Gelato, Golden Light or Youngblood’s. We know these screenings have saved lives men’s lives and we hope to continue the tradition while kicking off the 1st Annual “Fogelburger Fest”!!!
